" It is better to build strong children, than to repair broken adults! "
At Murdock Family Chiropractic we believe that our children deserve the opportunity to meet life's challenges at their best. And when their nervous system is impaired, it can affect nearly all aspects of their childhood. Chiropractic care for kids is a safe, gentle and effective way to help ensure that your child is expressing optimal health.
Giving birth, as beautiful an experience as it is, involves a lot of stress on the mother’s body. But it is very stressful for your baby as well. In a normal hospital birth, without significant complications, an obstetrician uses between 60-90 lbs of force to pull the baby through the birth canal and your child's head and neck receive the majority of that stress. These stresses, often referred to as birth trauma or birth stress, can have serious effects on the nervous system, leading to many common childhood health issues down the road. Because of this, we use state of the art diagnostic tools and thorough exam procedures to assess the condition of your child's nervous system and measure its improvement during our care.
Dr. Brett has extensive post doctoral education from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. These courses have provided him with hundreds of hours of training with the world's best in pediatric and prenatal chiropractic care.
Chiropractic care is extremely beneficial during pregnancy, for both mom and baby! At Murdock Family Chiropractic we enjoy helping mothers and babies have a healthy, happy experience. Women's bodies go through many shifts and changes as it creates the optimal place for baby to grow and develop, but sometimes these changes can be uncomfortable and even painful for mom. Chiropractic care is an excellent way to help your body adapt to these changes.
Our goal, regardless of where you want to give birth, is to get your body ready for a great labor and delivery experience. This means assuring that your pelvis is balanced and baby has as much room as she needs to have optimal positioning and that your nervous system is functioning optimally, to allow your body to adapt to the stresses (mental, emotional and physical) of giving birth.
Some of our patients have told us that while under our care, they have had less morning sickness, less pain and an overall better experience since they started receiving care in our office.
Dr. Brett is certified by the ICPA to perform the Webster Technique, which has been shown to increase function of the pelvis and SI joint. When these areas are balanced and functioning properly, optimal fetal positioning is possible. This technique does not directly affect the baby's positioning, but provides the best conditions for your child have optimal positioning, especially in the third trimester.
